Transformers: Decepticon Dominion |
Newbie HelpHere are a few basic MUSH commands. Anything you see in angle brackets (< >) in the following examples represents information that you must provide. Do not type the brackets. SpeakingTo speak, type a double-quote (") followed by what you want to say. Example: "Hello. PosingTo pose, type a colon (:) followed by the action. Example: :waves. To pose with no space after your name, use a semicolon(;) instead of a colon(:) Example: ;'s optics flash a brilliant scarlet. PagingTo page another player (send them a private message), type: p <player name or alias> = <message> Example: p Soundwave=Hi! If the player's name has a space in it, you can sometimes just use the first part of the name, or else you'll have to put double-quotes (") around the name. Example: p "tape recorder"=Hi! An "alias" is a shorter version of a character's name that can be used to refer to them. To see a list of connected characters and their respective aliases, type 'who'. To save typing time, you can use a player's alias instead of their name when paging them. Example: p sw=Hi! To see your @mail messages, type: @mail To read an @mail message, type: @mail/read <message #> To clear a message so it will be deleted the next time you log out, type: @mail/clear <message #> (Please try to keep the number of messages in your @mailbox to 25 or less.) To send an @mail message to another player, type: @mail <player name or alias> = <subject> / <message> Example: @mail Nightbird=Hi!/This is just a test message. ChannelsTo see what channels are available, type: @chan/list You will definitely want to join the IC channel for your group or subgroup. To join a channel, type, for example: @chan/on Cybertron @chan/on o-decepticon To speak on a channel, type: + followed by the first letter or two of the channel's name followed by the message: +o This is a test. +o :is just testing. O-Decepticon is an OOC channel and takes the place of Public channel on most other Mushes. Cybertron, Earth, etc., are IC channels. Think of the IC channels as global radio frequencies that only your faction has access to. On our MUSH, all Transformers have built-in radio systems and can send messages on the "broadband frequency" for other faction members to hear. Note that this is different from sending a personal radio message. Radio MessagesTo send a radio message to another character: +radio <character's name or alias>=<message> These are IC messages and will be responded to as such. Use page for OOC communication. Bulletin BoardsTo see a list of all available bulletin boards, type: +bblist To see new messages on a given board, type: +bbread <board number> To read a specific message: +bbread <board number>/<message number> To read all unread messages on a board: +bbread <board number>/u To post a message: +bbpost <board number>/<Subject>=<Message> Notice that the / and = signs are reversed from their order in the @mail command. |
RadioRadio messages are IC communications sent to one or a small group of individuals (as opposed to using an IC channel, which sends the message to every connected faction member and is like a broadband signal). To use the radio system, type: +radio <recipient>=<message> +radio <recipient1>,<recipient2>,etc.= <message> +radio =<message> +radio will only work if both you and the recipient(s) are IC. For those with specialized radio abilities, the following commands will be useful. To block an outgoing or incoming signal from someone else: To intercept (listen in on) radio messages being sent to or from those in the same room as you: If you transform into a mode that doesn't have the jamming or interception abilities, you will automatically stop jamming or intercepting, and will see a message telling you so. |
InternationalSpecially coded for our international players: if you want to see size in meters rather than feet, and velocity in km/h rather than mph when looking at someone's +stats, type: To revert back to imperial settings, type: &metric me=0 |
Saturday RPMajor TP events on Earth and Cybertron will take place every Saturday at 5 PM Eastern time, and generally run until about 9 or 10. (Adjust accordingly for your time zone.) This is the bare minimum amount of time you'll want to put in, in order to keep up with events - and you can in fact contribute meaningfully to the story and have a great time by showing up only on Saturday evenings. Out of your busy schedule, we invite you to join us for a few hours every week. You can of course log in at any other time during the week and RP, only that nothing "official" will be scheduled at those times, and you must find your own interactions. These moments are ideal for getting to know your team-mates and developing your character's personality and place in their universe, in the quieter times between the grand battles and adventures. |
