THE ULTIMATE DOOM

Part Two: Special Cargo

Logged by Soundwave

Engine Room

Once one of the most important areas of the ship, the engine room now serves only to house most of the control systems, the conning tower to the surface, and the central computer. A large console provides access to the main computer and detailed information about its operational status. The main engines still remain in place, but most of the peripheral machinery and materials were removed once it was determined the ship would never fly again. Consequently, most of the adjacent rooms are empty, awaiting future expansion.

Obvious exits:
<D> Down leads to Brig.
<N> North leads to Training Complex.
<T> Tower leads to Conning Tower.

Grimlock has arrived.

Grimlock looks around, casually acting bored.

Soundwave turns as he hears the door to the entrance tower slide open. His head tilts to the side slightly as though in curiousity to see the Dinobot, though whatever other indicator of curiousity he might show, is hidden behind his seemingly expressionless face mask.

Grimlock says, "What you DOING?"

Grimlock transforms into his Tyrannosaurus mode.

Soundwave instead of answering directly, says, "I believe you were assigned to guard the desert base-" before he can continue, he makes another slight motion of his head, as though listening to something.

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, not leave base unguarded. Come alone to see what everyone up to!"
Grimlock says, "Who you, Decepticon, are listening to? Tell, me, Grimlock!"

Soundwave says a little distantly, "You may have arrived at an opportune moment." His optic band flashes bright for an instant, then he makes his report.

<Earth> Soundwave says, "Earthbase Alert! Detecting anomalous energy readings from outside the hull."

Grimlock readies his stance at the urgency in Soundwave's voice.

Soundwave motions to Grimlock. "Come. Your talents may be needed."

Grimlock says, "Me right behind you!"

***** Elsewhere in the base, a few minutes earlier: *****

Science Section

A combination laboratory and machine shop, this area is where most research and fabrication is done by the various Decepticons with a scientific bent. Some of the equipment here is larger than an average Decepticon, while some devices are smaller than a cassette. A trained eye will recognize devices for manufacturing and testing cicuits, crystalization chambers, metallurgical stations, and various energy field projectors. Even though crowded, the room is orderly and clean, with parts and equipment neatly arranged.

Reflector [Robot]
Starscream [Robot]
Dr. Archeville
Obvious exits:
<N> North leads to Equipment Storage.
<E> East leads to Training Complex.

Dr. Archeville is overlooking a group of terrified humans huddled in a cage along one side of the lab, and seems pleased. A blank-eyed Sparkplug is standing next to him, as though awaiting orders.

Starscream is standing over a very weak section of floor unaware that a weak blast could crack it and send him in to the ocean, "These humans better be as good as you say they are doctor." He glances at the humans and sneers, "They don't look all that impressive, if you ask me."

Reflector says, "Megatron has decided to use them, and Megatron is right. The Autobots wouldn't dare attack us with the humans at our side."

Dr. Archeville gives Starscream a glare. "They will suffice!"

Starscream hmmphs and thinks.oO(So they can knock over a styrofoam Optimus Prime, big deal.) He crosses his arms over his chest and says, "Yes well I have yet to see them do anything impressive, this plan is a foolish mistake. Megatron must be losing his touch in his old age."

Dr. Archeville says, "My slaves will perform admirably, I assure you. I haven't worked on this device for so long, to see it fail!"

Reflector glares at Starscream. Will he ever learn? Probably not.

<Earth> Soundwave says, "Earthbase Alert! Detecting anomalous energy readings from outside the hull."

<Earth> Those within the undersea base will sense a shudder run through the structure a moment after Soundwave's words come in through the broadband.

Reflector says, "It's probably Autobots after the prisoner! We should call for reinforcements, sir!"

<Earth> Megatron says, "Can you determine the source of the energy readings, Soundwave?"

Something slams against the floor of the laboratory from below, sending a shudder through the plates, but as of yet the metal holds.

Starscream points at the humans, "We have wasted too many resources on these weak flesh creatures, resources we could have used to take over this planet and destroy the Autobots." He stamps his foot on the weak floor.

<Earth> Soundwave says, "Directly outside from several directions. Possible Autobot attack. Centered on the science section."

Reflector says, "Sir, we should prepare for Autobot attack..."

<Earth> Starscream says, "Let them try. Those foolish Autobots won't get past with Starscream present."

Dr. Archeville begins, "There are particular plans for this human, and I warn you not to interfere-" but he can't quite finish his sentence, when the floor gives out under Starscream's feet.

<Earth> Reflector says, "The floor has just collapsed! Hull breach in science section!"

Starscream falls into the ocean with a glub.

Reflector prepares himself to engage the Autobots on his own.

<Earth> Reflector says, "Requesting reinforcements. Starscream has fallen into the ocean."

<Earth> Megatron says, "I'll go outside to see who is visiting us."

<Earth> Skywarp says, "....Starscream fell into the ocean? And I missed that??"

Brawn and Windcharger leap up out of the hole in the floor and grab the motionless Sparkplug.

<Earth> Reflector says, "Autobots!"

Reflector opens fire on the Autobots, and fires a flash pulse at them!

<Earth> Reflector says, "In the Science Section! They're after the prisoner!"

Dr. Archeville jumps back and away from them, looking around for an alarm to hit - but the two 'Bots are gone again almost as fast. "Hold your breath, Sparkplug!" Brawn calls as he drags the human down into the water.

Grimlock arrives from Training Complex.

Tempest arrives from Training Complex.

Windcharger returns fire on Reflector, but it's only cover fire, as he leaps after Brawn and disappears into the water.

<Earth> Megatron says, "Keep them busy, I'll give them a welcome from behind."

Starscream is in the ocean and looks mad. He shakes his fist at them in defiance, shouting, "I will have my revenge!" And he swims up to the hole the Autobots made.

Reflector jumps into the water after them.

Tempest rushes in, attracted by the commotion, blades in her hands.

Reflector swims after the Autobots.

<Earth> Reflector says, "They've entered the water!"

Grimlock transforms into his robot mode.

Reflector opens fire at the Autobots underneath the water, trying to delay them enough for the ambush.

The two small Autobots disappear into a tunnel they've dug under the base, though one can detect the bright flashes of laser light in the blue of the water under the ship's hull.

Grimlock grasps his sword and charges alongside his comrades.

<Earth> Reflector says, "The Autobots have escaped with the prisoner, sir."

<Earth> Megatron says, "I'm outside now. Where are they?"

Starscream is just getting out of the water, he points at the hole in the floor and says, "After them you fools!"

<Earth> Reflector says, "They escaped into some sort of tunnel. They're gone, sir."

<Earth> The ship rocks faintly with laser imapacts as perimeter sensors show bright flares of activity outside - but with their objective accomplished, the Autobots aren't staying around long to fight.

Tempest sticks her head underwater not needing to be told twice ... and then draws it up again, shaking her helmet ... she's not used to being wet!

<Earth> Soundwave says, "Perimeter sensor readings indicate the enemy withdrawing. There is a hull breach in the science section. Reflector, what is the status?"

Reflector says, "Sir, we could lead a team of our smaller members after them, if you wish it?"

Dr. Archeville grins unpleasantly. "No no. This is exactly what we wanted, Reflector. Let them escape with their prize."

<Earth> Reflector says, "The Autobots escaped into a small tunnel that they dug to go underneath our defense perimeter with the prisoner. They are gone, but we may still follow them, if that is your wish, lord."

<Earth> Dr. Archeville patches into the broadband channel. "Your objective has been accomplished, Megatron. Consider this phase two of the test."

Reflector says, "What do you mean, human?"

Starscream pouts and says in his normal tone, "Those Autobots will pay for this!" He is dripping water and doesn't look happy about it.

Dr. Archeville steps over to the computer along the wall that he has been using. "Indeed they will, Starscream. Because they've just taken our slave into their midst!"

Reflector starts heading for a place where he can dry off.

<Earth> Megatron says, "I see some of them escaping through the water. I think that was the red herring. Well, I think I still gave them a few good blasts..."

<Earth> Megatron says, "Excellent, Doctor."

<Earth> Megatron laughs. "Let them think it was THEIR success."

Slipstream arrives from Equipment Storage.

Soundwave arrives from Equipment Storage.

Soundwave comes in to survey the situation, noting the hole in the floorplates.

Slipstream enters, and glares at Reflector as he is glared at in turn by Flashman. For once, Reflector has messed up, and not him.

Starscream is standing by the hold dripping water onto a section of floor and doesn't look happy.

Tempest shakes the water off her head as she kneels by the hole.

Dr. Archeville on the other hand looks very smug and pleased with himself.

Reflector is busy drying his three selves off.

Megatron arrives from Training Complex.

Skywarp arrives from Training Complex.

Tempest looks down at the water with a strange expresion on her face, as if not sure what to make of her dip in the substance.

Soundwave turns to Megatron, "Report confirmed, Commander. Hull breach in the science section, and the slave has been abducted. Our human ... ally ... seems to feel all has gone according to plan."

Starscream sneers, "I still say this plan is pure idiocy!" He crosses his arms over his chest and says, "Those Autobots are going to notice that chip over his ear, it's not like that flesh creature has enough hair to cover it up."

Dr. Archeville practically rubs his hands together, muttering something about stage two of the testing phase. "These slaves will do exactly as we say even from a distance, Megatron, I can assure you."

Megatron says, "It has gone perfectly, Soundwave. Prepare for our next move: Attack on the Ark."

Slipstream doesn't feel so confident in the plan either, but if Megatron backs it, then it can't be all that bad. WHAT!?!?

Tempest glances up at Megatron and grins. She picks up her blades from the floor. Attack on the Ark, THAT she can do....

Slipstream is slowly breaking out into a large grin. Now, they get to have some fun...

Dr. Archeville punches some controls on his computer system, bringing up an image of the Autobots returning to their home. Apparently they have lost no time in travelling.

Soundwave looks a little doubtful. "Do we have a guarantee that the slave will sabotage the Autobots as instructed?"

Reflector looks up, surprised. This is certainly unexpected... But welcome.

Megatron says, "Sure he will, Soundwave."

Starscream perks up at the mention of the Ark assult, "Finally a plan I can agree with." He points his finger at Megatron and says, " I was wondering when you would get the nerve up to attack the Autobots on their territory." He sneers and says, "This time nothing can stop us from destroying the Autobots."

On the screen, one can see Sparkplug getting to work within the Autobot base. He goes somewhat randomly from one Autobot to the next, tinkering with a silent single-mindedness. Finally he comes up to Ratchet, who's working on Sunstreaker, and opens an access panel in Ratchet's back, to try getting into the circuitry. Ratchet protests, "Hey, cut it out! My back's A-OK!"

Megatron says, "Yes, Starscream, nothing. Sparkplug will sabotage the Autobots' weapon systems AND Teletran 1!"

Dr. Archeville scowls, and speaks into a microphone on his control panel. "No, slave. Fix only the Autobots who are injured!"

Skywarp scowls "What if it doesn't work? He's only a flesh creature."

Reflector says, "One that the Autobots trust implicitly, however."

Megatron turns to the Decepticons. "It will. Decepticons, follow me to victory!"

Megatron enters Training Complex <<E> East>.
Megatron has left.

Reflector enters Training Complex <<E> East>.
Reflector has left.

Dr. Archeville seems pleased as Sparkplug goes back to 'fixing' those 'Bots who truly need it.

Starscream nods his agreement, "Yes what if those fools discover your precious Microchip?"

Soundwave casts a last slightly dubious look toward the human, and then turns to follow Megatron. He glances toward Grimlock, and nods to him slightly as though encouraging the new arrival to accompany them.

[Travel Time]

Base of Mt. St. Hilary

The once pine-clad peak of Mount St. Hilary erupted recently, blowing half the side of the mountain away and revealing an extraterrestrial artifact that fell from orbit and imbedded itself in the side of the volcano nearly four million years ago - the Autobot Ark. The stern of the vessel, with its four huge rocket tubes, is the only part of the ship visible above the surface of the ground. An immense tunnel has been drilled alongside it, leading into the mountain to the door of the buried spacecraft.

Soundwave flies in with Laserbeak and Grimlock to join the others.

Tempest glances at Grimlock. "You're not gonna have any problem attacking the Ark, are you?"

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, not have problems fighting! Maybe fight YOU!"

Grimlock acts offended.

Tempest eyes Grimlock coolly. "Save it for the Autobots."

Starscream notices the Dinobot and begins to complain, "What is he doing here? The last thing we need to ruin this mission is to bring along these Autobot buffoons. Who let them out of their kennel?"

Laserbeak glides in through the sky as his optics flicker once.

Soundwave comes to a landing beside Megatron and confirms quietly, "No perimeter sensors seem to be detecting our presence."

Grimlock transforms into his Tyrannosaurus mode.

Grimlock roars at Starscream.

Reflector has arrived.

Slipstream looks at the arriving crowd, and waits for instructions to attack.

Soundwave gives Starscream a silent look and merely shakes his head. Whether Starscream caught the warning, of course, is open to question.

Reflector looks about, and prepares to transform for observing.

<Earth> Megatron says, "How is the actual status, Dr. Acheville?"

Reflector transforms into his Camera mode.

<Earth> Dr. Archeville says, "No feedback from the slave. Everything is working perfectly, as I promised you."

Reflector begins scanning the Ark for Autobots present.

Laserbeak flies in circles as a predator seeking a prey.

Megatron says, "Grimlock will be very useful for us, Starscream. This will mark the end of Prime and his breed."

The exterior of the Autobot base is silent and peaceful. Whatever perimeter sensors are normally in effect, do indeed seem to be nonfunctional.

<Earth> Megatron says, "Teletran1 is out of order?"

<Earth> Dr. Archeville says, "The slave has done his job."

Tempest's optics dart as she examines the situation. The Ark is quiet, so quiet she'd guess the Bots have noticed nothing unusual.

Megatron says, "Excellent. Decepticons, attack, but be quiet until we are inside."

Starscream doubts, "If this plan is fool proof there is no need to bring a fool just to test the theory." He transforms and hovers up where he is in the sky, "We don't need the likes of him with Starscream the mighty along."

Reflector transforms into his Robot mode.

Starscream transforms into his Robot mode.

Tempest slinks forward, using the trees as cover, moving towards the mouth of the corridor.

Megatron enters Entrance Bay <<I> In>.
Megatron has left.

Grimlock barrels forth, stomping, crashing and roaring, thirsty for battle. He doesn't seem to be heeding Megatron's orders well.

Reflector enters Entrance Bay <<I> In>.

<O> Out leads to Base of Mt. St. Hilary.

Starscream arrives from Base of Mt. St. Hilary.

The startled Autobots turn as one toward the unexpected invaders. "Where'd they come from?!" Jazz demands.

Megatron shoots at Prime. "Spare no-one!!"

Grimlock transforms into his robot mode.

Slipstream flings grenades at the Autobots!

Tempest takes the point, listening ... and as Megatron opens fire, Tempest twists her arms and rakes laser fire across the Autobots gathered there.

Grimlock looks around for his Dinobot brethren, but doesn't see them anywhere.

Starscream flies in and begins shooting at Autobots, cackling, "I knew this day would come! The day Starscream has his revenge!"

Soundwave draws his weapon and fires into the midst of the Autobots.

Laserbeak arrives from Base of Mt. St. Hilary.

Slipstream notices several Autobots clustered together, and flings explosive grenades at them, hoping to cut them to pieces.

Laserbeak glides in with a silent approach and circles around.

Wheeljack's optics flash as he catches sight of Grimlock. After a split-second's hesitation, he turns his gun toward Starscream instead.

Reflector fires off flash pulses into the midst of the Autobots, trying to blind them.

Tempest fires until one of the Auoutobots rushes her ... then she wastes no time ceasing laser fire and bringing those swords into play!

Grimlock grabs two Autobots and bangs them together.

Prime, Wheeljack, and Prowl bring their weapons to bear and fire - only, something's wrong! Crackling light engulfs the guns as they short-circuit. Prowl shouts in confusion, "What's going on?"

Megatron says, "The destruction of your breed, Autobots!!"

Grimlock bites Prowl's rifle.

Slipstream plays "Catch the Grenade" with the Autobots, concentrating on Prime. If he can be disabled, the Autobots will fall apart.

Megatron shoots at Bumblebee and Spike, but misses the two.

Grimlock kicks Prowl to the ground and breathes fire on Prime.

The small human Spike breaks from his cover and runs toward Teletran. "Why didn't Teletran warn us?" he wonders aloud, and then trips over a wrench on the floor. He grabs it up. "Dad's wrench! That's why the alarm didn't go off. Dad sabotaged Teletran!"

Reflector charges the human Spike and Bumblebee!

Tempest kicks away Sideswipe and, as Sunstreaker tries to figure out why his gun won't fire, his flawless paint job is marred by a sword slash from Tempest's longblades!

Grimlock's tail indiscriminately knocks Wheeljack over.

Laserbeak glides down as he opens laserfire at Ratchet.

Spike stares aghast at the motionless Sparkplug. "Dad! What's wrong with you?" The other human rubs his head. "Don't know. Can't stop myself."

Two of Reflector are pounding Bumblebee to a paste, and the third starts advancing on Spike to stop him...

<Earth> Dr. Archeville says, "I'm getting feedback from the slave's hypnochip!"

Slipstream is hurling grenades at anything Autobot that moves.

Megatron randomly fires at everyone making the mistake of getting into his line of fire.

Laserbeak circles around and strikes again as he steadies his flight towards Bumblebee and opens a salvo on him as well.

<Earth> Dr. Archeville pulls a lever on his computer, sending a jolt of power to the distant chip. "Obey me, slave! You have no choice!"

Starscream fires at random Autobots, they have all made him look bad at one point or another so why single one out? "Foolish Autobots, you are no match for the power of Starscream!"

Tempest tries to slice Sunstreaker, but due to Sideswipe's interference, she can't finish Sunstreaker off ... no matter ... she is persistent....

Sparkplug knocks Spike out of his way.

One by one, the Autobots' motor functions start to lock up, disabled by crackling light that dances around them.

Reflector charges at Spike, intending to obliterate him for aiding the Autobots.
And continues to beat up Bumblebee to a pulp.

Slipstream hurls a grenade at Prime's torso, intending to topple him over.

Megatron looks down at all the fallen bots. "Parting is such sweet sorrow. Farewell, Autobots, forever!" He prepares for the terminal meltdown of his enemies.

Spike pulls himself up off the floor and continues his run toward Teletran. Having kept hold of Sparkplug's wrench, he throws the metal tool into an open panel to activate Teletran's alarm. Jets of foam pour from the ceiling, the fire-retardant nature of the substance shorting out the circuitry of the Decepticon weapons.

Slipstream says, "What the slag!?!?"

Tempest looks curiously up at the ceiling as she's covered in foam.

Starscream is waterproof but Foamproof is a while other story. "What's wrong with my lasers?"

Thundercracker protests, "I can't fire my weapon!"

Megatron stops. "Fire retardant foam! Our circuitry has been shorted out!"

Reflector yelps as he starts to shortcirucuit.

Tempest shrugs. "So let's chop 'em up instead," she suggests with a wave of a blade.

Megatron says, "If we stay, this foam will permanently demage our circuitry! The Autobots are finished anyway. Retreat!!"

Megatron has left.

Grimlock enters Base of Mt. St. Hilary <<O> Out>.

Soundwave turns to follow the others.

Sparkplug runs after the Decepticons, ignoring his son's pleas, waving his hands for a ride.

Laserbeak circles around.

Slipstream waits for instructions.

Soundwave flies in to join the others. Against his better judgement he has brought along the human Sparkplug, who was calling for a ride and attempting to follow the Decepticons as they left the Autobot base.

Soundwave places the human on the ground and ignores him from that point onward.

Tempest looks curiously at the human, having never seen one close up before.

As one approaches the site, it becomes possible to see the three towers of the energy pylons that have been built here - each an elongated triangular frame, poised on three different hilltops with their tips angled upward. All they need is to be activated. The tremendous amount of power that will flow through them, will bring the planet of Cybertron itself into Earth's orbit. Or so the theory goes.

Reflector still wonders what exactly these huge pylons are for.

Tempest turns her attention from the human to the massive space bridge structure ... the technology is breathtaking, and byeond her understanding. She returns her attention to evaluating the human.

Slipstream thinks that he has an idea of the theory behind this. But what could be so large as to require this big a step for intersteallar transport?

Sparkplug, seemingly content now that he's back in the Decepticons' presence, simply stands there looking blank.

Megatron orders with gestures who should go to which pylon.

Reflector looks on, impressed by the technical wizardry of the Decepticons.

<Cybertron> Shockwave says, "All city commanders, please report to Polyhex to submit your final reports."

Soundwave steps over to Megatron. "Shall I contact Cybertron for final preparations?"

Megatron nods to Soundwave.

Slipstream goes to work on his pylon, initiating a standby sequence, and waiting for Megatron's plans to activate them.

Reflector goes to another, and does the same.

Megatron says, "Coordinate the angles of the energy pylons!"

Tempest follows Reflector, watching his movements so she can imitate them if need be.

Slipstream starts to work on the necessary calculations.

Reflector starts aligning his pylons with the others. This is delicate work, and the slightest distraction...

<LongRange> Soundwave says, "Earth to Cybertron, please acknowledge. We are beginning final preparations to activate the space bridge. What is your status?"

Laserbeak glides down and heads for Soundwave.

Soundwave holds up an arm for Laserbeak to land on, even as he listens for a response from Cybertron.

Laserbeak comes down and stretches his claws as he lands on Soundwave's arm, seeming to feel comfortable with his keeper.

Megatron waits as well. Also he doesn't show it, he is nervous. One wrong step and everything is lost.

Starscream has arrived.

Tempest is merely curious, as to how the pylons work, and as to finally finding out what the huge cargo is.

Grimlock has arrived.

<LongRange> Shockwave says, "Shockwave to Earthbase. Affirmative Soundwave, we are prepared. Do you have a time estimate for transport?"

Slipstream works carefully on the necessary alignment, and calculations.

Starscream flies into the area in his jet mode he lands and lets the mad dr out before changing into his robot mode.

Dr. Archeville has arrived.

Starscream drops Dr. Archeville.

Soundwave shows no reaction as Starscream's engines roar onto the scene, though he does note Grimlock accompanying the jet. Again that slight tilt of the head, betraying curiousity, but there's no time to pursue his questions now.

Reflector works at setting up his pylon, nervous.

Slipstream won't mess up, not this time. No matter the cost.

Reflector is determined to do his duty, and not to fail his leader.

Dr. Archeville climbs out of Starscream's cockpit and looks around, momentarily gaping at the towering pylons. Quickly he gathers his wits and demands of Megatron, "So, Megatron. You're finally preparing that 'space bridge' to send that 'special cargo,' eh?"

<LongRange> Soundwave says, "Preparations are almost complete. We will focus the beam and generate the wormhole within the next few hundred astroseconds."

Megatron looks down at the weird looking human. "Precicely, and that cargo will be nothing less than our home planet of Cybertron.

Grimlock asks in Laserbeak's general direction, "What these things are here?!"

Slipstream looks up for a moment, stunned. They're going to bring CYBERTRON here!?!?

Tempest gapes at Megatron. She'd expected someting big, but...

Dr. Archeville is startled. "Your planet?! You're bringing a planet to the Earth?"

Laserbeak shakes his tiny head as he just gives a *sqawk*

Megatron says, "Yes."

Reflector looks up, surprised, but he deduced something quite similar.

Dr. Archeville protests, "But the gravity of your planet will create earthquakes, tidal waves - it will devastate my planet!"

Starscream is unfazzed by Megatron's words as he doen't have any comebacks or little comments to make. It is apprent to all he was in the know the whole time.

Grimlock laughs at Laserbeak. This is the first time they've met, and Grimlock finds him cute.

Tempest seems shocked, a bit uncomfortable ... she murmurs something that sounds like "messing with the natural order..." but her awe and admiration are unmistakeable.

Slipstream looks worried. To destroy an entire planet. For what purpose. He gets back to work, though somewhat alarmed now.

Soundwave doesn't seem surprised, he's known about this plan for some time. Or is it merely that nothing much seems to surprise Soundwave?

Laserbeak looks at his big blue protector and nudges his wing.

Megatron grins. "Ah.. but that devestation will create a tremendous flow of energy. Energy which your hypno-chip slaves will collect into energon cubes. The cubes will then easilly be shipped to Cybertron for our use."

Reflector is soon nearly complete with the alignment process.

Grimlock says, "Me want to show Slag!"

Slipstream says, "Sir, we've nearly got the pylon aligned."

Grimlock begins to reach for the vulture.

Dr. Archeville grows more and more outraged. "But what will be left of Earth then?! I will be ruler of a dead world!"

Reflector says, "Affirmative, sir. Alignment nearing completion."

Starscream just watches, uncaring, arms crossed. He seems to be keeping an eye on the Dinobot as if waiting for him to betray them all.

Megatron seems to be very amused about the Doctor. "A small problem, my dear doctor, for your amazing genius!"

Soundwave turns sharply toward Grimlock, as though to warn him off from Laserbeak. "I would not recommend it, Grimlock."

Laserbeak pecks with his head towards Grimlock, seeming not to be liking his reach.

Soundwave says, "Laserbeak, be civil to our new arrival as well."

<LongRange> Shockwave says, "We shall be prepared."

Grimlock says, "Oh, ok... me not touch little birdy."

Dr. Archeville glowers in silence, obviously not liking this at all.

Laserbeak looks at Soundwave. *sqeewk*

Grimlock backs off a little, but continues to be fixated by Laserbeak's every movement.

Slipstream nearly has his pylon in the alignment position.

As does Reflector.

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, say bridges are boring. Me not understand what fuss is about!"

The sound of rumbling engines suddenly echoes from a cliff-face above the work site. Screeching to a stop at the edge are Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Ironhide, Brawn, Prowl, Jazz, and Bumblebee.

<LongRange> Megatron says, "Is the spacebridge prepared?"

Tempest's head snaps up, around. Her natural paranioa pays off again. "AUTOBOTS!"

Reflector says, "Sir, alignment 97 complete. Awaiting instructions for initiation."

Optimus Prime transforms and draws his gun, ready to lead the others into the fray.

Starscream sneers and mumbles to himself, "He's nothing but a simpleton." He looks up and spots the Autobots, "Decepticons follow me to victory!" He leaps to the sky to wage war on the Autobots.

<LongRange> Shockwave says, "Everything is in readiness on this end Megatron."

Tempest transforms into her CF-18 Hornet Jet mode.

Reflector says, "Sir, alignment complete. Ready for initialization."

Tempest flies after Starscream, powering up her lasers.

Slipstream says, "Alignment complete. Ready for initialization."

<LongRange> Megatron says, "And we are ready to receive."

Grimlock transforms into his Tyrannosaurus mode.

Reflector and Slipstream prepare to initialize upon Megatron's command.

Megatron has - of course - a plan for what to do in case the Autobots attack: "Position the slaves, Doctor."

Soundwave turns toward the Autobots with his own weapon drawn, giving Laserbeak a silent command to take to the sky and engage them.

Dr. Archeville snarls a little reluctantly, "As you wish, Megatron." He steps to a control panel on the side of one of the pylon bases, and keys open a storage compartment in the adjacent building. A large group of humans walks out in single-file, walking out at a steady pace to intersperse themselves between Megatron and the Autobots. Sparkplug takes his place at the head of the line.

Grimlock is confused at the sight of all those humans. "Me, Grimlock, better fighter than them!"

Prime comes to a sliding halt and raises his hand as a signal to the others. "Autobots - hold your fire! We cannot endanger the humans."

Slipstream looks up and cheers silently. Finally, some good comes from a human.

Soundwave looks on expressionlessly as the Autobot warriors simply come to a stop. Most odd.

Tempest laughs to hear Prime's words as she descends on a strafing run!

Megatron grins at the incoming Autobot leader. "You disappoint me, Prime! I never dreamed you'd let a few worthless flesh creatures stand in the way of attacking us." He shoots at Prime, but misses or... does he want to miss for some reason?

Prime seems to quickly forget his previous noble sentiment as he brings up his gun in response and shouts, "It's not over yet, Megatron!"

Starscream stops from attacking the Autobots when he sees them swarmed by humans, "Foolish Autobots! Too afraid to face Starscream when the lives of your flesh creatures are at stake?"

Slipstream is now ready to launch whenever necessary.

Dr. Archeville snaps back out of his sulk as he begins to revel once more in the usefulness of having so many slaves at his command. "Slaves, attack the Autobots!" he shouts.

Megatron seems to be amused. However, those who know him better will realize a certain strain. He has to get Cybertron here safely.

The unnaturally calm humans suddenly break into violent motion, rushing forward and grabbing up sticks, boards, and rocks. The Autobots stand there baffled and afraid to move, lest they step on one of the fragile creatures. Only some of the smaller ones such as Bumblebee are really feeling the attacks. Bumblebee calls to the Autobots' human companion, "Spike, I need your help!"

Starscream watches the Autobots battle and lose to the humans.

Spike however is too busy trying to intercept his dad. "What are you doing?" he demands. "The Autobots are your friends! All the Autobots are our friends!"

Laserbeak takes of from Soundwave's arm as he circles high above Soundwave.

Sparkplug pauses, and mutters, "Autobots? Friends? Spike ... what's wrong with me?"

Grimlock transforms into his robot mode.

Reflector continues, readying his pylon for transport. "Sir, all is in readiness!"

Starscream transforms into his Robot mode.

Grimlock takes to the air for a better vantage.

Tempest pulls off her attack and circles, laughing, as the humans hold the Autobots at bay for them!

<LongRange> Megatron says, "Report status, Shockwave."

Dr. Archeville doesn't look pleased. "I'm getting biofeedback from Sparkplug's hypnochip. I must recompute the control codes." He jolts Sparkplug with a new burst of power from his console, and Sparkplug knocks the younger human out of the way, scrambling up the second pylon to hit the activation code. He waves his hands in the air. "Pylon Two - activated!"

Grimlock feels a strange kinship to Laserbeak, and wishes to be close by incase the battle heats up.

Now only one pylon remains, and Prime follows Megatron toward it in hopes of preventing its activation.

Slipstream says, "Pylon ready, sir!"

Megatron climbs up to the third pylon.

<LongRange> Shockwave says, "Entering final countdown phase."

Prime leaps for Megatron as he climbs the cliffside leading toward the third pylon, and grabs hold of Megatron's foot, trying to drag him back down.

Megatron kicks the enemy off him, finally reaching the top where the pylon is. He heads for the controls.

Optimus Prime is thrown back down by the force of Megatron's kick, losing his grip - but he's only out of the action for a moment before he scrabbles back up and lunges for Megatron. He attacks the Decepticon leader from behind, trying to keep him in a secure hold. "That's the last one you're activating, Megatron!"

Laserbeak flies around and heads towards Megatron as he swirls in a circle making a loud shriek. "*Shreeek*!"

Soundwave doesn't seem worried about the other Autobots, as they've been effectively immobilized by the swarming humans. One can hear the clanks and clangs as their makeshift weapons strike the Autobot armor.

Slipstream stays at his pylon, making sure that it is running smoothly.

Starscream decides to take a grudge against Prowl and fires a few laser blasts toward the bot. "Face me Autobot, face me if you dare! Going to let a few humans stop you?" he cackles and says, "Autobots are weaker than I thought."

Megatron though in Prime's grasp, starts to grin: "Correct! You will activate the last pylon and bring Cybertron here!"

Prime replies contemptuously, "As the Earthlings say, fat chance, fathead!"

Tempest wants to dive at Prime, but can't ... he's too close to Megatron and her aim is not that good. She circles overhead of the third pylon now, keeping out of the bridge apex, but watching Megatron.

Prowl makes as though to reach for his weapon, but is stopped by the proximity of the humans. "You'll pay for this some day, Starscream!" the Autobot vows.

Reflector makes minute adjustments necessary to keep the beam stable.

Megatron says, "If you don't, you will be responsible for Cybertron's distruction."

Prime is so startled by this revelation that he releases his grip on Megatron. "Destruction!" he gasps. "But there are still many inhabitants - friends! - on Cybertron!"

Starscream hmmphs, "That's what you Autobots always say! Feel the wrath of Starscream!" He fires a few more times at the Autobots and of courses misses using his cartoon aiming skills.

Megatron points at the third pylon. "Then make your choice, Optimus Prime."

Prowl ducks back, trying not to step on the swarming humans, and curses to himself, clearly wishing to return fire.

Prime steps over to the pylon controls. Clearly struggling with himself, he says in a low voice, "Very well, Megatron. You win." He reaches out and hits the last button, orienting the third pylon. A beam of light shoots upward, converging with the others, the apex of the giant pyramid opening a wormhole into space of planetary proportions.

Tempest quickly flies well clear ... lands....

Tempest transforms into her Robot mode.

Tempest looks skyward in open-mouthed amazement.

Slipstream makes sure that everything is going steadily.

Laserbeak flies towards Soundwave giving a signal of tiresome as he transforms into tape mode.

Laserbeak flies towards Soundwave's compartment in tape mode and enters.

Laserbeak has left.

Grimlock lands next to Soundwave with a crash.

<Cybertron> Every alarm sensor on the planet starts to blare as the world itself moves under the feet of its inhabitants.

Grimlock says, "Where bird GO?!"

Starscream grins gleefully, "You Autobot scum are all cowards!" He fires a few more blasts from his arm cannons. "This is the end for you Prowl and let this be a lesson to all who stand against Starscream the mighty!"

Slipstream says, "Transport initializing, Sir!"

<Cybertron> A giant rectangular portal opens in front of the planet of Cybertron, and gently draws it in. For a moment, there is nothing but a bright white light. Then, without fanfare, the light fades, revealing a much different sky. Those on the Polyhex side see a very large blue and green ball, with a white spot.

A sudden stormwind kicks up, raising dust and rocks and bending the surrounding trees back and forth like blades of grass in a breeze. Dark cloudcover rolls in and arcs of lightning crackle between the earth and sky as the tremendous looming shadow of Cybertron comes into view, filling nearly a quarter of the sky.

Reflector says, "Transport Complete! Cybertron has arrived!"

Grimlock says, "LET BIRD GO!!!"

Grimlock seems to think Soundwave has trapped Laserbeak.

Soundwave closes his tape compartment behind Laserbeak and says to Grimlock a little distractedly, "He is quite safe, I assure you. And we have other concerns."

Soundwave looks up at the almost unbelievable sight of his homeworld looming in Earth's sky like a gigantic metal moon.

Slipstream says, "Our home... has come here."

Megatron looks up where Cypertron hangs in the sky. "Ah, this is only the beginning! The sum of Earth's magnificent energy will be mine! I have won!" He laughs, somehow in relief. However, there is still a task to accomplish for him.

Prime stares upward at the sky, horrified. "Have I saved Cybertron, only to destroy the Earth?"

Grimlock has never seen Cybertron before. He starts to pay more attention to the goings on around him.

Slipstream waits for instructions from Megatron as to how to proceed.

Torrential rain begins to fall.

Starscream looks up at the welcome sight of Cybertron. "Say hello to your planet, Autobots - or should I say goodbye!" He fires a few more times, missing anything that would be noteworthy if he hit it.

Tempest seems to have forgotten the battle ... forgotten everything save the bridge bringing the planet of Cybertron into Earth orbit.

Megatron's optics are chained to the silver shining orb above.

Slipstream looks at his homeworld, silently amazed that he is seeing it again.

Reflector vows that this time they will succeed, and revitalize Cybertron for good.

With the sudden influx of nasty weather, the human slaves are slowing their attack on the Autobots, allowing them to go into action. Several Autobots draw their weapons in earnest now and start to fire on the Decepticons, hoping to catch them unaware.

Tempest finally tears her gaze off of Cybertron to see Megatron in his moment of triumph ... she allows herself a slight smile. Then an Autobot laser beam disrupts her thoughts. Cursing herself for her carelessness, she renews the attack!

Megatron says, "Now there will be no power in the universe to resist me. Decepticons rule forever!!!"
Megatron laughs.

In the distance, the forms of Slag and Sludge come into view. They soon land beside their leader and explain that they got tired of waiting at the desert base.

Slipstream dodges laser fire, and races towards the Autobots, flinging flash grenades towards them, making sure that his comrades are out of range.

Spike runs forward, trying to keep on his feet through the driving wind and rain, and leaps toward the controls of the nearest space bridge pylon. "Forever's shorter than you think, Megatron!" he mutters, swinging the structure around so that it leans down horizontally and slices its energy beam toward the Decepticon leader.

Now that his job is done, Reflector moves to engage the Autobots. He warns his fellow Cons to be prepared for a flash pulse from him.

Reflector transforms into his Camera mode.

Reflector fires a flash pulse towards Spike, trying to stop him.

Tempest notices the swinging pylon but is too far away to do anything but yell, "MEGATRON, LOOK OUT!"

<Cybertron> A low rumbling is felt all throughout the planet, not so much a tremor as a giant wave of force that travels along the whole surface of the planet - and perhaps throughout the rest of it as well.

Slipstream being the closest, dives towards his leader, trying to knock him out of the way.

Soundwave for once doesn't notice the danger to Megatron, as he points out the Autobot attackers to Grimlock in hopes that he will direct their heavy firepower against the enemy.

Megatron jerks aside, avoiding the blast.

Slipstream barely manages to dodge the blast as well, and he swoops up, and then opens fire on Spike.

The Dinobots transform and attack the Autobots.

Tempest gets a punch in the face from Hound for her distraction ... again cursing - whether at Hound or herself, it's hard to say ... and blasts at the Autobot with her lasers.

Reflector fires a flash pulse towards the nearest grouping of Autobots.

Slag plows through 4 Autobots, impaling them and striking them down.

Starscream fires on the now fighting back Prowl cautiously, "So now you have bravery now that you are all doomed! Too little too late!" He fires at Prowl some more with a trace of a cackle in his voice.

Slipstream charges towards Spike, intending to filet the small human.

Megatron says, "Soundwave, this area must be cleared to start our work. Begin generating audio disruptor waves."

<LongRange> Shockwave's voice sounds awed as he reports, "Transport successful. Orbit of Cybertron appears stable. Tidal effects are apparent but well within safety limits."

Sludge steps on Huffer's foot while Grimlock kicks him in the head.

Spike runs frantically for the safety of one of the larger Autobots.

Reflector charges towards Spike, along with Slipstream. Slips lands in front, and Reflector cuts off his escape.

<LongRange> Megatron says, "Message received."

Soundwave stands with absolute calm in the center of the storm and begins generating a strange high-pitched sound. The reels in his chest compartment move, sending waves of pain into the audial sensors of the Autobots. Even any Decepticon who gets too close, would be well advised to draw back.

Slipstream grins as he closes in on Spike. This human won't be a threat much longer...

The human slaves suddenly run off in panic as though woken from a bad dream.

The Dinobots growl in pain, and are forced back by the audio disruptor waves.

<Cybertron> Shockwave says, "All monitor units, report in."

Reflector advances towards Spike as well. This human has caused them far too much trouble. Not any more.

Tempest winces, not liking Soundwave's audio disruptors at all, though they aren't hurting her the way they hurt the Autobots.

Starscream draws back when Sounders does his thing, asking almost silently, "Why doesn't he do this more often?" He fires a few more times.

Bumblebee transforms and roars toward Slipstream and Spike, shuddering as the painful disruptor waves hit him. None the less, he guns his engines and manages to get between Slipstream and Spike so that Spike can quickly get in. Bumblebee skitters off after the other retreating Autobots.

Dr. Archeville notes with displeasure, "The audio disruptor waves have counteracted the effects of my hypnochip. I'll just have to create more slaves."

Slipstream swears as Bumblebee gets passed him, and he quickly moves to follow the small yellow Beetle.

Reflector fires laser blasts towards the retreating Bumblebee.

Soundwave cuts off the painful sound as the Autobots hurriedly escape, and calls to Slipstream, "Slipstream - Megatron has not given the order to pursue."

Slipstream says, "Very well, sir. Breaking off pursuit."

Megatron doesn't seem to have any interest in the Autobots anymore. He just lets them escape.

Slipstream sighs in relief as the sonic waves break off their assault. He wonders why Megatron is letting the Autobots escape. They have a wonderful talent for turning the tables, so he'd prefer that they finish them off now.

Tempest looks up as the storm overhead grows more intense.

Reflector runs an internal systems check, afraid that the sound waves might have temporarily unbalanced his mental linkups. Finding nothing wrong, he rejoins the grouping.

Slipstream rejoins the group, awaiting instructions. Now, nothing can stop them!

Starscream is firing at the fleeing forms of the Autobots.

<LongRange> Shockwave says, "Shockwave to Earthbase. Do you receive?"

Dr. Archeville steps forward, his drenched white lab coat being the only thing that makes him visible through the driving curtain of rain. "Now what, Megatron? I have more slaves back at base who await instructions, but we will need more yet."

<LongRange> Soundwave says, "We are receiving you, Shockwave. What is Cybertron's status?"

Megatron turns to Tempest, still ignoring the Autobot escape. "Tempest, here are your orders..."

Starscream comes back from attacking the fleeing Autobots. "What's your excuse Megatron? You let the Autobots get away!" He doesn't look happy about it at all.

For once, Slipstream agrees with Starscream. Never let an enemy get away to cause trouble another day.

Tempest says, "Yes Megatron?" Sheathing her blades now that the Autobots are gone.

<LongRange> Shockwave says, "Cybertron is in a stable orbit, and is undamaged. The tidal forces are negliable, and all appears nominal. We are picking up some of the atmosphere from Earth, but it does not appear to be a danger."

Slipstream and Reflector join the group, listening to Megatron's instructions.

Megatron suddenly turns very angry, and hits Starscream with the back of his hand.

Grimlock enjoys Megatorn's show of strength.

Starscream is sent to the ground with a slight smack. "But but...."

Tempest flinches back from Megatron's anger.

Reflector thinks business as usual, in regards to Starscream.

Soundwave merely watches calmly.

Megatron, while grasping his second in command by the throat, grumbles, "Cross me again, Starscream, and I will reduce you to titanium fragments."

Starscream grasps weakly at his arm, "But we had the Autobots desoriented, we could have easily finished them off."

Megatron says, "We'll do that at our leisure, when our more important work is done!"

Starscream gazes dumbly up at Megatron, kinda thankful he still has a head.

Megatron drops Starscream. "You have had the only warning I intend to give!"

Soundwave's optic band flickers very faintly. Where has he heard that before?

Tempest has shied back, watching the exchange with open optics, waiting for her assignment though it looks like she'd rather be anywhere else.

Soundwave just truly doesn't seem worried about the exchange. He looks around and regards the others, as the rain continues and the wind whips the nearby trees back and forth as though they were strands of grass.

Megatron turns back to Tempest. "Take Acheville and Sparkplug back to our base. I think some readjustments have to be done."

Tempest nods. "Yes, sir."

Tempest transforms into her CF-18 Hornet Jet mode.

Tempest pops her canopy for Dr. Archeville and Sparkplug to enter.

Dr. Archeville points Sparkplug, who has remained under control, toward Tempest, and moves toward the yellow jet plane. He glances back toward Starscream, as though almost prefering to ride with him - but he has work to get back to.

Tempest fires her engines ... not so sure about letting humans inside her cockpit. "You people ready to fly?"

Dr. Archeville calls back to Megatron before he climbs into the cockpit, "Remember, I need more raw materials, Megatron, if the plan is to fully succeed!"

Megatron says, "Get the slaves to collect the energy from the weather!"

Soundwave opens his tape compartment again. "Laserbeak, eject. Seek out more subjects for hypnochip implantation." He looks over at Grimlock and muses, "Perhaps Grimlock may accompany you."

Dr. Archeville has left.

Tempest takes Dr. Archeville.

Laserbeak has arrived.

Laserbeak comes out of Soundwave and transforms into his bird mode as he begins to circle around seeking humans.

Laserbeak transforms into his Condor mode.

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, go with birdy!"

Tempest takes off on her assigned task.

Tempest enters Pacific Northwest <North America> <<W> West>.
Tempest has left.

Grimlock orders the other Dinobots back to the desert base, not wanting to leave it unguarded.

Starscream hmms and says, "I don't think it's a good idea for that lummox to tag along with Laserbeak. He might endager the mission!" He points at Grimlock and says, "Those recruits should be kept to the simple assignments like ... paper weight duty."

Soundwave looks at Starscream evenly."I will follow them to assist."

Grimlock holds his sword out. "Me, Grimlock, ready to PROVE me stronger than you!"

Grimlock says, "You, Starscream, have courage to FIGHT?!"

Starscream glances at Grimlock and says, "See, what did I tell you. They are a worthless pack of traitors who can not be trusted." He glares at the Dinobot and says, "If you don't obey me we will destroy you along with the rest of your Autobot brethren."

Laserbeak flies through the area as he looks for humans.

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, not SLAVE! Me, Grimlock TIRED of being BOSSED around. First, Autobots. Now, you! AAARRGGGHH!!!"

Soundwave glances at Megatron. He wasn't concerned a few minutes ago when Megatron confronted Starscream, but this situation is entirely different again.

Grimlock transforms into his Tyrannosaurus mode.

Megatron says, "Wait, Grimlock, let him go. We still have some use for him, my friend."

Grimlock looks at Megatron.

Megatron earned Grimlock's respect earlier, when he confronted Starscream.

Starscream backs away from the belacous bot, "Watch it you fool. One word from me and you will be obliterated into scarp metal fit only for a petro-rabbit."

Grimlock says, "You, Starscream, only live as long as Megatron say not kill you!"

Laserbeak spots a human hiding behind a rock and dives towards him then catching him between his claws. "*sqawk*"

Grimlock walks over to Megatron. "Me, Grimlock, will obey you as always, mighty Megatron!"

Slipstream awws. He was about to start a betting pool.

Soundwave steps forward. "Perhaps now is a good time for me to take Grimlock and Laserbeak to a more populated area to gather humans."

Starscream hmphs and says in his cocky snide way, "I will out live you and Megatron." He looks over at Megatron and looks like he is ready to dodge, "I suggest you keep better control on your new pets, oh leader. Or I might just have to fix them for you."

Megatron turns to Starscream. "Now better keep your synthesizer silent. May I remind you of what I told you before..?"

Slipstream has noticed a few smaller human power plants that he could hit with a relatively small force, or on his own, if necessary.

Grimlock turns to Soundwave to ask yet another question. "Why Megatron make him, Starscream, a commander? Not make sense. Me, Grimlock, am stronger!"

Soundwave says, "You are inexperienced. Starscream has certain ... aerial abilities."

Grimlock says, "Experience not important. Me strongest Dinobot of all!"

Soundwave nods to Grimlock. "That may be, but there are factors in addition to power which are important. You will see what I mean."

Megatron looks after Starscream, his face darkened. "You may have your chance sooner than Starscream dreams, Grimlock... If he doesn't take care with his mouth."

Soundwave sends a silent message to Laserbeak to call him back with his captured prey.

Starscream bahs and sneers at Megatron and Grimlock, "You wouldn't dare put that overgrown dimwit in command. He can't even lead his own unit of dimwit Dinobots let alone the full might of the empire." He begins thinking of ways to use Grimlock.

Laserbeak flies back towards Soundwave with the human screaming underneath him as he floats in the air in front of Soundwave.

Soundwave indicates Reflector. "Take this one back to base, Reflector. We will gather more."

Reflector says, "Affirmative, sir."

Reflector grabs the human, and heads back to base.

Reflector enters Southwestern Desert <North America> <<SW> Southwest>.
Reflector has left.

Grimlock fetches two fists full of humans and drops them in front of Soundwave. They are all dead or dying from Grimlock's manhandling.

Slipstream winces. He makes a mental note never to get on Grimlock's bad side...

Soundwave regards the humans with a slight shake of his head. "I think a different approach is called for." He activates his flight engines and rises into the air, wobbling slightly in the wind.

Slipstream says, "Sir (to Megatron) I noticed a few human power plants nearby. Permission to have a team go raiding?"

Grimlock lifts off again, staying close to Soundwave.

Laserbeak flies underneath Soundwave, keeping close to him.

Megatron turns to the remaining Decepticons. "Soundwave, send Laserbeak to collect more slave material. Slipstream, you have permission. We others return to base."

Soundwave transmits to Megatron: "Request permission to accompany Laserbeak and Grimlock to observe the new recruit."

Starscream hmphs and mutters to any who are near, "The oaf can't even gather humans!" He shakes his head in a tsk tsk manner before saying, "A raid? Slipstream you couldn't lead a raid. I, Starscream, will lead this raid."

Slipstream shrugs. He wasn't intending on leading the raid himself, just accompanying a team there.

Megatron transmits a message via radio.
Megatron transmits to Soundwave: "Yes, but return as soon as you have the new material."

You enter Great Plains <North America>.

Great Plains <North America>

At their northern edge, these inland grasslands are bordered by the Great Lakes gouged out by glaciers a mere several thousand years before and filled by meltwater. Continuing south and west from there, the original prairie ecosystem has been largely replaced by farmland, as have the original deciduous forests on the eastern edge of this range.

Obvious exits:
<N> North leads to Boreal Forest <North America>.
<SE> Southeast leads to Southeastern Subtropics <North America>.
<NE> Northeast leads to North Atlantic Coast <North America>.
<W> West leads to Rocky Mountains <North America>.

Grimlock arrives from Rocky Mountains <North America>.
Grimlock has arrived.

Laserbeak arrives from Rocky Mountains <North America>.
Laserbeak has arrived.

Laserbeak flies in looking around for humans.

Soundwave flies low under the storm weather, and heads toward the flickering lights of a human habitation in the distance, a great city by the shore of a lake.

Grimlock finds some humans, and tries to grab them between his teeth. He snaps at them, but misses.

Soundwave says, "Grimlock, you would be more effective at your task if you frighten the creatures in Laserbeak's direction. He will then capture them and I will store them in my tape compartment."

Soundwave says, "As you can see, dead and damaged humans are not functional for our purposes."

Laserbeak grabs humans here and there from the surface as he flies to Soundwave as he drops them at him and does this over and over again.

Soundwave gathers the squirming humans and packs them into his tape compartment.

Soundwave finally feels he has enough, and rises up into the stormy sky again. "Come, Laserbeak. I believe that is sufficient."

Laserbeak flies in after Soundwave as he still carries another human in his claws.

Tempest [CF-18 Hornet Jet]

Obvious exits:
<N> North leads to Equipment Storage.
<E> East leads to Training Complex.

Tempest transforms into her Robot mode.

Dr. Archeville picks himself up off the floor and glowers at Tempest as she dumps him in the middle of the room in the process of her transformation.

Tempest folds her arms and looks back at the human. She isn't sure what she did wrong ... but she's not going to grovel to something she can squish.

Dr. Archeville mutters, "I would thank you for the ride back, but I've had smoother rides on roller coasters as a kid. Yes, I know - it was the weather. Your leader is rather ambitious, bringing a whole planet through space."

Tempest says with a bit of a smirk, "Perhaps the fact that I've never carried a passenger before may also explain it." She gives him a twisted grin. "And Megatron can never be accused of lacking vision."

Dr. Archeville says, "Hmph. Vision. That's what I always accused my co-workers of. Lacking vision. Blind fools. But they'll soon see!"

Tempest raises an optic ridge at the doctor. She doesn't think much of grand vision in general, but Megatron's is at least calculated, rationalized ... Megatron just might be able to pull it off ... Archeville seems more chaotic, less directed, less well planned. "You're going to make them sorry, hm?"

Dr. Archeville grins. "Indeed I am. They should have listened to me from the start. Now they will suffer the consequences."

Tempest kicks back on a chair, but is still watching the humans intensely. "More revege issues?" She looks up, then her gaze slides back to Archeville. "This whole planet is fixated on vengeance."

<Earth> Megatron contacts the Decepicon base and Dr. Archeville. A signal sounds at the base computer.

Dr. Archeville steps over to the computer to answer the signal.

Tempest glances up sharply. "That's a call coming in." She looks over the Dr.s shoulder.

<Earth> Dr. Archeville replies to Megatron's signal: "You have reached Dr. Archeville."

Reflector arrives from Training Complex.

Reflector says, "We have a human for you, Dr. Archeville."

Tempest is looking over the Dr.s shoulder as Archeville answers a transmission from Megatron.

<Earth> Megatron growls, "Spare me your pomposity and report."

Dr. Archeville nods to Reflector, pleased to see another test subject, but keeps most of his attention on Megatron's image on the screen.

<Earth> Dr. Archeville says, "Yes, of course. The further captives will be fitted with my hypnochips, and will remain completely under my control."

Reflector enters Training Complex <<E> East>.
Reflector has left.

<Earth> Megatron says, "Then you'll be provided with more raw material. I shall arrive shortly to oversee activities."

Dr. Archeville steps away from the screen again and glances over toward the enclosure holding several humans. He brings out a tray containing rows upon rows of hypnochips, checking them over.

Tempest says casually, "So what makes the chips work?" She wants to know if by any chance those chips can affect a Cybertronian....

Dr. Archeville seems pleased to talk about his brilliant invention. "Placed behind the ear, they generate an electric current that shorts out the personal will of the individual. This leaves the slave open to receiving signals which direct his movements or stimulate the emotion centers of the brain. Anger, for instance, such as we unleashed against the Autobots."

Tempest says, "Humans run on electric impulses? Like robots?"

Dr. Archeville says, "So to speak. Nerves transmit a low-voltage current which releases neurotransmitter molecules, and that sends the signal to and from the brain. It can be disrupted by just the right sort of external input."

Tempest does not really like the sound of that but hides it ... she says, "Figure it could work on Autobots?"

Dr. Archeville frowns in thought. "On Autobots? I don't have enough information about the nature of Cybertronian brain impulses to be able to tell you. Ah, but what does it matter - you will be rid of your Autobots soon enough, and I will have my planet."

Tempest seems relieved that the Dr. isn't about to try to override her will any time soon. She lies to cover up her thoughts... "So we don't get the pleasure of watching Autobots grovel before us ... can't win them all, I suppose." Anyone who knows her would know that's not her style, but the doctor does not, she supposes.

Dr. Archeville shrugs, holding up one of the gleaming metal chips with the tip of a tweezer. "I will be more fortunate than you, then. I will have the chance to see my former detractors grovelling to me. Most appropriate, don't you think?"

Tempest says with a twisted smile, "Enjoy yourself then. "Redux", as we say in the Spaceways..."the circle..."...

Dr. Archeville quirks a bushy white eyebrow. "The circle? Retribution? Justice?"

Tempest says, "Not quite justice ... there is no concept of "justice" as you would call it ... more a natural progression. That if you can hang on long enough, circumstances change for you."

Dr. Archeville says, "Ah! Yes, that sounds right."

Dr. Archeville says, "Of course, one must take the chance when it presents itself."

Grimlock arrives from Training Complex.

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, am stronger than you, Tempest!"

Tempest regards Grimlock coolly. "Your point?"

Dr. Archeville looks up from his tray of hypnochips as Grimlock stomps in. This one, he really doesn't know how to evaluate, and so stays quiet and watches for now.

Grimlock says, "Me not have point!"

Tempest nods to the doctor. "Of course. You cannot expect fate to deliver anything into your hands. It's more a ... law of the jungle so to say..." She blinks at Grimlock and says, "Evidently not."

Grimlock tilts his head in confusion.

Megatron arrives from Training Complex.

Grimlock says, "Megatron!"

Tempest smirks a little and stays seated, not allowing Grimlock to goad her into a fight where she hasn't got the advantage.

Megatron strides in. "Your raw material will arrive shortly, doctor."

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, want something IMPORTANT to do!"

Megatron looks down at Archeville with a strange look. "This human is important to us, so take good care of him."

Grimlock stomps around with glee. "Me have IMPORTANT job!"

Tempest's expression suggests she doesn't think much of Grimlock, though she's not saying it aloud.

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, just remember me supposed to find humans with Soundwave..."

Grimlock reaches for the human, so he can bring it with him for safekeeping.

Dr. Archeville peers up at Grimlock a little doubtfully, as though wondering if he's in greater danger from his 'guardian' than he would be without him.

Soundwave arrives from Training Complex.

Laserbeak arrives from Training Complex.

Laserbeak flies and drops the human.

Grimlock is about to pick up Dr. Archeville.

Dr. Archeville shies back. "Keep your paws off me," he protests. "I have work to do here!"

Megatron says, "No, just watch over him, Grimlock."

Grimlock straigthens up. Looks over to Soundwave and Laserbeak.

Megatron notices the arrivals. "More raw material for you, Doctor. Convert them into my slaves!"

Dr. Archeville says, "Yes, of course, Megatron."

Soundwave steps inside and opens his tape compartment, spilling out a disorganized group of humans. "Somewhat unusual cargo," he comments as he gathers up the humans and drops them into the circular holding ring in one corner of the room.

Reflector arrives from Training Complex.

Tempest remarks, "You're telling me," to Soundwave. She looks a lot more comfortable with the "Slave" idea now ... now that she knows the chips don't work on robots.

Reflector enters, and hands Megatron a preliminary report on atmospheric conditions.

Dr. Archeville goes over and touches a few buttons on his computer console, and a glowing energy ring springs up around the holding cell, drawing in around several humans to make them easier to corner. "If someone would be so kind as to secure the next subject to the table?"

Grimlock steps forward.

Tempest says, "Let me do it," to Grimlock.

Megatron takes the data file.

Soundwave warns, "Careful, Grimlock. They are fragile."

Tempest knows she isn't known for being gentle, but she's got to be better than Grimlock...

Soundwave flickers a glance toward Tempest as his optic band shades a little brighter in a moment of amusement. "You are simply too strong for them, Grimlock."

Grimlock backs away again, hangs his head a tad in shame.

Tempest grabs a human by the shirt collar ... noticing how its flesh yields under her grip though she's trying to be gentle ... sniffs once ... and plops the human on the table.

The human yelps as he's drawn through the energy field, but that seems to shock him into submission enough to lie still. Dr. Archeville places the hypnochip behind his ear and affixes it with a device that looks almost like a welder. A faint trace of smoke and the slight odor of scorched flesh is noticable.

Laserbeak flies down and lands on one of the terminals.

Tempest mutters, "How did this species survive long enough to create civilizations?"

Grimlock reaches for Laserbeak again, but this time in a less aggressive manner, as though about to stroke his head.

Soundwave steps over to Megatron, lowering his voice. "Commander, there are some personell issues I would discuss with you, while our warriors and the slaves are gathering energon."

Megatron says, "Yes, Soundwave, we will go to the command center."

Megatron enters Training Complex <<E> East>.
Megatron has left.

Dr. Archeville orders the newly-created slave off the table and awaits eagerly for more. He looks to Tempest. "If you would provide me with the rest, I will continue my work and have them available shortly."

Soundwave enters Training Complex <<E> East>.
Soundwave has left.

Tempest scoops up the slave, plops it down in a corner of the room. "Can you make it stay there?" She goes to get another kicking human. "Stop that ... you're not making it easy for me!"

Dr. Archeville commands Sparkplug and the newly-created slave, "Keep the others still until I'm ready for them."

Reflector stands there, watching.

Tempest dumps another human on the table for Dr. Archeville.

Laserbeak ignores Grimlock as he takes off in the air, settling down on a higher location in the room.

Tempest regards Laserbeak ... his brother Buzzsaw is always on her shoulder, but Laserbeak she doesn't know so well.

Dr. Archeville deftly places the next hypno-chip and affixes it in place, a faint smile playing about his features the whole time. Dreaming of some future glory, perhaps, or enjoying vindication from the past?

Grimlock, with his arm still extended pointlessly, follows Laserbeak with his eyes.

Laserbeak looks around silently as some sort of device comes from his head. (ooc:camera)

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, say you, Laserbeak, should become Dinobot. Me best leader anyway."

Tempest walks over to Grimlock. "They're as smart as ... ah, as we are," she says, gesturing to Laserbeak. "If he thinks you're looking down on him, he won't come near you."

Grimlock says, "Now me say you, Tempest, not boss me around ANYMORE. Me, Grimlock, am STRONGEST Dinobot!"

Laserbeak wields his wings as he stretches them then folds them back.

Tempest's optics narrow to slits. "Excuse me for trying to help." She turns her back on him.

Grimlock chuckles a deep, belly-laugh. "You funny Decepticon."

Tempest looks curiously back at Grimlock. Has he not noticed that her logos are only painted on - not branded? Does he not care?

Laserbeak takes off in the air again as he makes a fast passing of Grimlock's head, then lands on a terminal in front of Tempest.

Tempest nods respectfully to Laserbeak.

Laserbeak nods. "*Sqeek*"

Grimlock transforms into his robot mode.

Reflector looks at Tempest and Grimlock, puzzled on by their goings on.

Grimlock turns to Tempest...

Laserbeak looks towards Reflector but keeps an optic locked on Grimlock.

Grimlock says, "Why birdy not like Grimlock?! Me just want to catch it and show Slag!"

Tempest says, "Laserbeak might come if you ask him. If you try to catch him, he will be mad, and fly away."

Grimlock says, "You bring birdy to me! PLEASE!?"

Laserbeak spans his wings again, putting his beak in them as they fold before him.

Dr. Archeville decides it might be wise not to interfere with the larger Decepticons, and instead motions to Reflector, with whom he's spent a good bit of time working in the lab. "Position the next slave for me, if you would?"

Tempest says to Laserbeak, "Laserbeak, would you mind going with Grimlock to meet the other Dinobots?"

Reflector moves to assist the good/bad Doctor, depending on one's point of view.

Laserbeak shakes his tiny head.

Grimlock, getting more than a little frustrated, stomps his feet several times before settling down.

Dr. Archeville nods thanks to Reflector, squelching his curiousity about the triple-being once again to concentrate on his chosen task.

Reflector positions the next slave on the bed, the fact that there are three of him greatly aiding things.

Tempest says, "Grimlock, you may upset Laserbeak. You need to treat him like you would me."

Grimlock looks even more confused.

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, not have fun here ANYMORE! Me going back to desert base."

Reflector says, "Treat him like a fellow Decepticon. You want to be treated importantly, so does he. He is strong, treat him like he is strong, and he will respect you."

Grimlock ignores Reflector and leaves, feeling rejected.

Laserbeak flies up and lands on the floor near Grimlock while looking up.

Grimlock enters Equipment Storage <<N> North>.
Grimlock has left.

Tempest smiles down at Laserbeak. "He'll learn I think, Laserbeak, if we give him a chance."

Laserbeak shakes his tiny head and nods.

Tempest sighs, sitting back down, and mumbles to no one in particular, "Why do I feel like part of a crew again?"

Laserbeak flies up into Tempest's direction and makes a landing approach.

Laserbeak lands on Tempest's shoulder while folding his wings in.

Reflector nods at Laserbeak politely, and to Tempest, and goes back to work.

Tempest flinches a little, startled, rising up ... then she sees it's Laserbeak. She settles back in the chair.

Laserbeak looks around and nudges his wings with his beak.

Dr. Archeville continues on with his task, happy now to be left to his own devices.

Command Center

This circular room was formerly the bridge when the base was a viable spaceship. Now used as the Command Center, it is dominated by the large central viewing screen. The screen is linked to the main computer system, and can display anything from energon production reports to tactical updates to topside weather information. The various other bridge control stations have been converted to monitor and control the various mechanisms and activities of the base. They curve around the room from the door to the central viewscreen.

Megatron [Robot]
Obvious exits:
<S> South leads to Access Corridor.

Soundwave accompanies Megatron.

Megatron turns to Soundwave. "Well, what is it?"

Soundwave leans over the communications console for a moment to check up on something. A voice sounds from one of the human news broadcasts: "...and incredible as it may seem, the object in orbit around our planet is rumored to be none other than the Autobots' homeworld of Cybertron. Which begs the question: have our self-proclaimed protectors gone too far?"

Megatron chuckles. "How amusing. The humans are questioning their Autobot 'friends' motives..."

Soundwave chuckles quietly. "Interesting. The reaction of the natives." He re-focuses on Megatron and his expression grows serious again. "I have been following the progress of our recent arrivals, Commander. I find the matter most fascinating. How many different personality types have found their way into our ranks of late."

Megatron says, "All of them have their abilities which are very useful for the whole."

Soundwave says, "And yet, integrating them will require a certain vigilance."

Soundwave says, "Their motives range from self-interest to something akin to a sense of belonging, but I feel it would be a mistake to separate them off alone and away from the more experienced troops."

A radio transmission is received by Megatron.
Soundwave intercepts a message from Slipstream: " Sir, encounter report with the Autobots. We hit a power station, and Prime, Prowl, Hound, and Skyfire engaged us. Slight damage, but we managed to escape with a partial load of cubes."

Megatron takes a place in the next chair. "I'm aware that I have to be careful, Soundwave."

Megatron says, "Well, don't stay so... general. Tell me what you think of the individuals and their personalities."

Soundwave settles himself and falls silent for a long moment. "Tempest has done well for herself," he begins. "While her motives were initially driven by pure utilitarian survival, I believe she feels a part of things by now, though she would deny it if you were to ask her. She is forging individual connections, most of all in her respect for you."

Megatron says, "She has much in common with a young warrior I once knew..."

Soundwave considers. "Perhaps. A sense of responsibility for those around us is sometimes gained little by little."

Megatron says, "She will make it. And one day, she will dare to wear the true Decepticon insignia."

Soundwave says, "She must feel worthy of doing so, of her own accord. I am certain that time will come."

Laserbeak conveys telepathically to Soundwave: 'Grimlock anoying.'

Soundwave continues his evaluation, "The Dinobots, I suspect, will be valuable additions, though it will take some effort to integrate them. Even now Laserbeak finds his interaction with Grimlock 'annoying', by his own words." Soundwave refers to some silent communication.

Soundwave conveys telepathically to Laserbeak: 'Have patience with him, Laserbeak. He is new here, he is learning. I wish him to feel welcome among us.'

Laserbeak conveys telepathically to Soundwave: 'He keeps trying to capture me.'
Laserbeak conveys telepathically to Soundwave: 'Not liking this.'

Soundwave conveys telepathically to Laserbeak: 'From what I noticed, he was attempting to be friendly. Make clear to him that he must be gentle if he wishes to interact.'

Soundwave pauses for a moment, his expression a little distant in that look he gets when seeing something through the eyes of one of his creations.

Soundwave transmits to Grimlock: "Grimlock. This is Soundwave. I only wished to remind you - you must have patience with Laserbeak. You are new to him."

Grimlock arrives from Access Corridor.

Megatron says, "The Dinobots have physical abilities we need. However, I indeed worry more about them then about Tempest. It will take a while to teach them how to behave, which is actually not so easy."

Soundwave looks up from his conversation with Megatron and notes the new arrival. "Speaking of whom."

Soundwave's optic band shades a little brighter in a "smile."

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, want your help!"

Megatron says, "What is it, Grimlock."

Soundwave says, "You have been in 'conversation' with one of my creations, I understand."

Grimlock says, "Laserbeak not let me catch him!"

Soundwave nods, seeming to know all about this. "So I am told."

Soundwave says, "Consider, Grimlock, if you were small and fragile like Laserbeak. Would you not be concerned if someone of your size reached for you with unknown intentions?"

Grimlock says, "No! Me would be happy to do what Dinobot commander say!"

Grimlock says, "Laserbeak just little Dinobot, right?"

Soundwave says, "If you feared harm to yourself? If you did not know the motives of the Dinobot commander?"

Soundwave 'smiles' again with his optics. "I would not describe Laserbeak as a Dinobot."

Grimlock says, "Not DINOBOT?!"
Grimlock says, "If not Dinobot, what is birdy?"

Soundwave explains, "The technical term is a sensor-spy. He is designed to infiltrate and gather information."

Grimlock says, "You, Soundwave, commander of Laserbeak?"

Soundwave says, "I am his creator. I direct his activities as well."

Megatron watches the discusion between Grimlock and the never impatient Soundwave. He will interfere, IF it becomes necessary.

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, want one too!"

Soundwave seems entirely content to be conversing with Grimlock - indeed, he watches the other with clear curiousity and interest as though trying to evaluate him.

Grimlock recalls a previous battle...

Soundwave says, "Your companions, the other Dinobots. They are your troops, they respect you."

Grimlock says, "Where BIG Laserbeak now?"

Grimlock says, "Me, Grimlock, demand to see other DINOBOTS! They not deserve to be with Autobots."

Grimlock says, "All Dinobots are for me, Grimlock, to command. Me KING!"

Soundwave tilts his head a bit in a questioning gesture, then seems to realize who Grimlock means. "The flying Dinobot. I cannot tell you the whereabouts of that individual, nor what his loyalties may be."

Laserbeak arrives from Access Corridor.

Grimlock transforms into his Tyrannosaurus mode.

Laserbeak flies into the center and heads for Megatron.

Grimlock slams his tail down a few times while glaring at Laserbeak, as though trying to communicate.

Laserbeak gives a stare towards the dino and lands on Megatron's shoulder as he gives a look towards Soundwave.

Grimlock rightfully turns to Megatron for a request.

Soundwave says, "I am reminded that there is a medical report that requires my attention. Commander, with your leave, I will see to this. I hope to discuss my further evaluation of the troops with you at a later time."

Grimlock says, "One day, we get other Dibobots back?"

Grimlock says, "And you, Laserbeak... YOU fight fight Autobots with Dinobots sometimes?"

Megatron nods to Soundwave. "I have to work on the plans for the sea funnel." He turns to Grimlock. "Whatever happens, you can be sure, in the end the Decepticons will be the victors. And if the other Dinobots decide to join the right side...." He heads for the door.

Laserbeak flies towards Soundwave as he makes a noise. *Sqawk*

Megatron enters Access Corridor <<S> South>.
Megatron has left.

Reflector arrives from Access Corridor.

Reflector enters the Command Center, and begins doing an analysis of the new weather patterns of the planet.

Soundwave rises from his place and reaches out to touch Laserbeak's wing in a brief gesture of affection, and then heads toward the door. "Perhaps the others will see the truth as well, Grimlock," he suggests, and continues on toward the repair bay.
